If you are a nature enthusiast or an ecotourist, Phu Thabberk should not be anywhere far from the top of your list of places to visit in Thailand. Phu Thabberk is the highest peak of Phetchabun with a spectacular view of complex mountain ranges that never fail to impress its visitors.
Phu Thabberk is approximately 1,768 meters above mean sea level making it the highest point of Phetchabun province. The most beautiful thing about Phu Thabberk is the high mountainous feature that offers fresh cool air from the Himalayan range all year round.
Apart from the panoramic scenery, visitors can also enjoy observing the simple lifestyle of the Hmong hill tribe that has migrated to this area under the care of the Phetchabun Tribal Welfare and Development Center. From the bottom of the hill up to the very top, several agricultural terraces have been created because the locals’ main earning comes from agriculture. At the end of the rainy season to the beginning of winter, Phu Thabberk offers the endless view of cabbage fields all the way along the road. While in December and January, it becomes a popular place to appreciate “cherry blossom” or the wild Himalayan Cherry that covers almost every square inch of the mountain. When the night falls, visitors head to the observatory for the best view of twinkling stars in all seasons.
